Bekele Belaychew Kokose is a coffee producer from Bensa district of Sidama zone in Ethiopia, who owns three farm sites, with the largest one being nearly 4 hectares in size and producing around 100 bags of coffee annually. Growing, picking and processing coffee is a difficult and labor-intensive process, requiring long days in the sun and rain and constant care for the trees. The coffee is processed on-site using natural processing methods, washing and sorting, and then spreading the cherries on raised beds to dry. The coffee must be turned periodically to ensure even moisture content.
